A Place for All
Meta
Showcasing the meaningful, powerful connections that can happen when people come together on Facebook
context
There’s a misconception that Facebook is just a place for killing time. We wanted to elevate real content on the platform and celebrate Facebook as a place for all the amazing things people are doing, seeing, feeling, making, questioning, supporting, learning and achieving. Our goal was to invite others to see what's possible in their lives, too.
collaboration
We collaborated with Facebook on a campaign called A Place for All, including a series of 12 in-feed films based on different parts of Facebook: Groups, Events, and Search. To create this massive amount of content, we needed an all-star team of co-directors. SpecialGuest family member Baz brought his deep knowledge of internet meme culture, while frequent SpecialGuest collaborator Martin Allais used his mastery of design and animation to bring continuity to the series.
concept
SpecialGuest performed animation experiments and scoured Facebook for the most awesome content to include in the videos.
The aesthetic feels exciting, disruptive, visceral, raw, and experimental. The videos, composed of wonderful content that makes Facebook feel like Facebook, ran in people's newsfeeds.
